Coming to Bluray from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is the intense series that keeps us all watch THE FLASH: The Complete Second Season.

At the end of THE FLASH’s first season, a black hole is trying to tear Central City apart and Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) is doing what he must to stop the wormhole. After the destruction, Barry moves top speed to repair the city. While being hailed a hero, he is attacked by Albert Rothestein who is much more than Barry can handle. During their battle Albert tells him who is responsible for everything.

Jay comes along trying to explain who he is in a parallel Earth and knows about the demon Zoom. Calling the two worlds Earth-1 and Earth-2, metahumans are coming from Earth-2 to kill The Flash. It would be Stein (Victor Garber) and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) that discover there are a large number of breaches between the two Earths and of them is located in the S.T.A.R. lab!

flash 1

The infiltration is causing havoc with the team with the coming and going between worlds. Trying to merge the two is creating resentment among the team and Barry is attacked by monsters sent by Zoom as Dr. Wells (Tom Cavanagh) comes to his rescue.

Once they meet Earth-2’s Harrison Wells, they learn that he is actually responsible for the metahumans and Zoom. Deciding to help the team stop the constant barrage of attacks, it surprises no one when Zoom kidnaps someone that will set The Flash off. That isn’t stopping the team from looking for Zoom and Barry thought Dr. Light might help but instead she escapes. Now they need Earth-1 Linda Park (Malese Jow) to pretend to be something she isn’t.

After a fight with Zoom, Barry is having a difficult time mentally and physically. Iris tries to find help as the group tries to cope without him. When Patty (Shantel VanSanten) discovers that Barry is the Flash a decision is made that can change things.

When Zoom figures out that Wells is in Earth-2 he threatens Central City. Attacking STAR those in the lab manage to escape but when a showdown with Zoom takes place, someone is sacrificed. With no time to take a breath, the King Shark has escaped ARGUS and he has one goal.

flash 2

Zoom however has another goal and a way to get what he wants is to kidnap Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) and exchange his life for Barry’s speed. The only way to help Central City now is a hologram of the Flash beating crime keeping the citizens in the dark. When Wells comes up with a plan to return speed to Barry, it doesn’t come without a price.

Still reeling from the cost of retrieving his powers, Hunter demands that Barry race by using death threats if he doesn’t comply. With a magnatar that can destroy planets, a showdown begins as Flash deals with Zoom, Time Wraiths and the man in the iron mask!

Also included are all 23 episodes including The Man Who Saved Central City, Flash of Two Worlds, Family of Rogues, The Fury of Firestorm, The Darkness and the Light, Enter Zoom, Gorilla Warfare, Legends of Today, Running to Stand Still, Potential Energy, The Reverse-Flash Returns, Fast Lane, Welcome to Earth-2, Escape from Earth-2, King Shark, Trajectory, Flash Back, Versus Zoom, Back to Normal, Rupture, The Runaway Dinosaur, Invincible and The Race of His Life.

Don’t forget that THE FLASH: The Complete Second Season also comes with Digital HD and Ultraviolet so that you can watch your favorite heroes and villains anywhere!

This series is seriously intense and you can not blink or something important will pass you by. The one thing that keeps me focused is the amazing ensemble cast that pulls each episode off because, I mean seriously, wow. Each character brings something unique to a storyline that is riddled with small details that are so important.

Gustin IS the Flash and that is not an easy task. He walks and talks this character and that really is important for someone like me who didn’t know what to expect. Unfortunately the hour really does fly by and I don’t know how they pack so much into it. That is a true testament to the writing, directing and casting of THE FLASH!

flash 4

Season three is due to air in October which gives everyone plenty of time to catch up or revisit THE FLASH: The Complete Second Season. This is definitely the time to gather all comic book story lovers to pick apart each episode and, in my case, explain things to those of us just getting started in the hero world!

In the end – keep the multiverse safe takes dedication and the Flash!

ARROW: The Complete Fourth Season Shoots on Bluray This Week

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the Bluray I reviewed in this Blog Post. The opinions I share are my own.

Released on Bluray this week from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is the continuing story of ARROW: The Complete Fourth Season.

The last we see of Oliver Queen aka The Arrow (Stephen Amell) he is boarding a ship deciding leave Star City with Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards). Leaving behind John Diggle (David Ramsey), Thea Queen (Willa Holland) and Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy), they are dealing with Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman) who is the new Ra’s al Ghul for the League of Assassins.

Becoming crime fighters in their city now called Star City; the group needs help from Oliver. Criminals calls Ghosts and they are led by Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) who want the city leaders taken out. Diggle isn’t about to let that be the end of it when he discovers that Darhk is leading HIVE.

arrow 1

When Jessica Danforth runs for mayor, another attack happens by Darhk in the form of Lonnie Machin. Knowing HIVE is also part of this the team comes together to stop it. With the office of mayor still open, Oliver decides to run which doesn’t sit well with the group. Thea is still working through her aggression when Laurel takes her to Nanda Parabat asking Malcolm to help.

Diggle is still dealing with HIVE but now learns there is also the group ARGUS meeting with Darhk. Being challenged is not something Darhk takes kindly too and also has no problem stopping anyone who gets in his way.

The Lazarus Pit not only helped Thea but brought Sara back to life but not the same at all. Oliver asks friend John Constantine to please bring Sara back as a whole person. While they are distracted Darhk finds a way to bring in a computer virus that can delete individuals.

Oliver keeps his campaign alive wanting to clean up the waters around Star City. That isn’t going to stop Darhk from causing trouble as he tries to stop anyone who helps. Oliver decides that the only thing he can do it out Darhk as the leader of those terrorizing the city. In retaliation, Darhk kidnaps Diggle, Felicity and Thea and an even exchange with Darhk is never an honest deal.

arrow 2

Felicity is the casualty of it all and left unable to walk. Adding to the discovery that Oliver has been keeping a very important secret, the thought of marriage is not a happy one between the two. Oliver needs the help of Vixen who has the powers needed as Darhk does everything he can to stop the mayors race.

Finally able to get Darhk in a courtroom, it doesn’t mean that he isn’t planning something interesting as Cupid returns to Star City. Targeting married couples, Oliver and Felicity stage a wedding to capture Cupid. With the testimony of Captain Lance, Darhk is kept in custody.

When Oliver is stung by a robotic bee, it is quickly clear that Brie Larvan is responsible. Darhk is working on getting out of prison and on of them will pay the ultimate price for his anger. Hardly finished, Darhk finds his way back to HIVE and starts his Genesis plan and takes control of nuclear missiles around the world.

No matter what they do, the evil Darhk manages to launch 15,000 missiles and the team has only two hours to stop the destruction of everything they know.

It is time to set things right.

arrow 4

The cast of ARROW have truly brought the word ensemble to a higher level. When the presentation of the story is seamless then it is impossible to find flaws of any kind. Amell leads the way as a man who understands the responsibility of who he is, as much as he might want to run away from it all. Don’t think for one moment that he still doesn’t have his secrets because there are still a few to be had.

McDonough as Darhk is the perfect villain for Arrow. Okay, so personally I think McDonough makes a perfect villain anytime I see him on the screen. In this series the playing field between these two actors is fantastic. Being slippery about getting caught, Darhk takes villainy to new heights and McDonough makes sure the heights come with a fantastic view.

Rickards as Felicity Smoak definitely has her work cut out for sure. Fans are waiting for Arrow to put a ring on it but what they do will keep them apart. Ramsey as John Diggle is one of the busiest and most inquisitive characters and I couldn’t be happier about that. Holland as Thea gets a chance to be a good-girl-gone-crazy-gone0good and does it well.

In the end – it is a series of villains, heroes and challenges!

DC’s LEGENDS OF TOMORROW: The Complete First Season are Heroic on Bluray

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the Bluray I reviewed in this Blog Post. The opinions I share are my own.

Legends

Jeri Jacquin

Coming to Bluray, DVD and Digital HD this week from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment are the superheroes of DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW.

It is 2166 and Vandal Savage has taken over the planet. In the process that very evil has taken the family of Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) who knows that it is time to take action before Savage becomes completely unstoppable.

Hunter travels back to 2016 in the Waverider with only one goal in mind – gathering the best and the worst to make a plan of action. Together with Ray Palmer-Atom (Brandon Routh), Sara Lance-White Canary (Caity Lotz), Jax Jackson (Franz Drameh), Martin Stein-Firestorm (Victor Garber), Leonard Snart-Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), Carter Hall (Falk Hentschel) and Kendra Saunders-Hawkgirl (Ciara Renee), Hunter travels even further back to 1975 to see Professor Boardman who was/is an expert on Vandal Savage to learn his secrets.

leg 1

In that trip the group learns about themselves as well before they are all attacked by a bounty hunter named Chronos (Dominic Purcell) who is fairly upset that Hunter stole his ship to gather them all up. Not finished with 1975, they try to find Savage only to be exposed and when Savage captures Ray, Leonard and Mick, it is to bring the others to him.

During a struggle Kendra is hurt which keeps them all in 1975 longer so making the best of the time the start looking to hurt Savage in his financial pocket. While attempting to get information on the funds, Rip learns the horrifying truth that Savage is using Carter’s blood to extend life. If that isn’t enough, Ray must now shrink in order to save Kendra’s life.

Jumping to 1986, the group must get inside the Pentagon to find information on Valentina Vostok (Stephanie Corneliussen), a scientist in the Soviet Union but Chronos isn’t far behind. Stein manages to get inside the research lab and finds that Savage is trying to build an army but not before Ray and Mick become Soviet captives.

Stein knows that they are looking for the formula called Firestorm and it is quite possible that he may have to be taken out to keep anyone else from finding it. What the Soviet scientist Vostok would discover may change everything.

Now is the time for the team to go to Star City in 2046 and are met by an attack and quickly retreating. Returning they head to Smoak Industries for ship parts and are introduced to the Green Arrow and revelations about Sara and Oliver.

leg 1

Rip isn’t about to give up looking for Savage and needs better software getting it from another ship called the Akeron.  Their own ship comes under siege when pirates try to take the Waverider! After a deal is struck, the team heads to 1958 Oregon and after a lead to Savage, Kendra and Carter are struck by a weird creature made from the metal that gave them their initial powers. Taking all their attention, no one sees Chronos storming the Waverider and taking off with Ray, Sara and Kendra stuck in time.

Two years pass for those left behind and Sara becomes part of the League of Assassins and when Rip returns for them all. Not wanting to leave without her, Sara tells them she won’t leave Ra’s al Ghul (Matt Nable). When a trial-by-combat happens, Rip knows it’s the only way to save the team and the discovery of Chronos’ real identity comes out.

Now traveling to 2147, they learn of Per Degaton, a kid who will start something that helps Savage in his quest for domination. The group also learns that the Time Masters have sent out a group of their own and they are out for the team.

Hiding out in 1871, it gives the team a moment to work on a plan. While in South Dakota they meet Jonah Hex (Jonathon Schaech) who knows Rip. During a fight with the Hunters, the group finds out that the Time Masters have also sent Pilgrim’s to take out their younger selves.

Jumping to 2166, the team again comes close to finding Savage but instead finds his daughter. When Savage is captured and tries to manipulate the team, they would arrive at Vanishing Point only to discover that the Time Masters are equally as responsible for everything they have experienced.

Returning to 2016, they discover a message from Kendra telling them Savage is in 1944 France. The only way to stop Savage from using Kendra and Scythian’s blood and erase time is to break the team up as Micky and Ray go to 1958, Sara and Firestorm go to 1975 and Rip and Scythian go to 2021 to stop Savage in each place.

leg 3

But someone knows what is about to happen to the group!

DC’s LEGENDS OF TOMORROW is a fantastic way for fans to get their action hero stories once a week and in spectacular detail. There is a lot and I mean a LOT going on here in the first season but once you get into the flow of the show it’s hard to look away!

Time jumping isn’t an easy thing to do in a show and keep viewers attention but DC’s LEGENDS OF TOMORROW manages to do just that. I certainly don’t seem to mind that they take the storyline to places all over the map and in different eras. By doing so they keep the stories from becoming predictable and bland.

Included are the episodes Pilot 1 & 2, Blood Ties, White Knights, Fail-Safe, Star City 2046, Marooned, Night of the Hawk, Left Behind, Progeny, The Magnificent Eight, Last Refuge, Leviathan, River of Time, Destiny and Legendary.

leg 4

The Bluray and DVD has the Special Features of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow: 2015 Comic-Con Panel – Warner Bros. Television Presents a Night of DC Entertainment at Comic-Con 2015: DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Jonah Hex: Hex Marks the Spot – Journey behind the scenes of “The Magnificent Eight” as producers bring the legend of Jonah Hex and the ways of the Old West in Life, A Fantastic Voyage: Touring the Waverider Set – Journey behind the scenes with the production design team responsible for bringing the Waverider to life. From the origin of the time traveling ship, to the VFX that completes the illusion, a complete look.

Also, History in the Making – Explore the cross over between fact and fiction, as the Legends team makes contact with a variety of eras throughout the series. Time travel with the heroes and villains of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.  and a Gag Reel!

There is an amazing cast behind DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and I have enjoyed getting to know each one. Something tells me that although I have some idea of each, the series hasn’t scratched the surface of where the story can go.

This Bluray marathon of goodies is an awesome way to prepare for the second season of DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW. With more secrets to tell, more action and more surprises, season two is going to be packed!

In the end – when heroes aren’t enough the world needs legends!

LUCIFER: The Complete First Season Charms with Heat

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the DVD I reviewed in this Blog Post. The opinions I share are my own.

Lucifer

Jeri Jacquin

Coming to DVD this week from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is the first season of the hit series LUCIFER: The Complete First Season.

Lucifer (Tom Ellis) isn’t having as much fun as he’d like to be so he decides that coming to Los Angeles might solve that problem. What ends up actually happening is he becomes part of the LAPD and that’s the easy telling!

Arriving in Los Angeles, Lucifer owns a very exclusive night club. When a pop star is killed in front of him it isn’t going to go down well. Using his powers, he helps Chloe Decker (Lauren German) who is a detective solve the crime.

Chloe and Lucifer work together again to solve another homicide and don’t think his Dad down under hasn’t taken notice. That isn’t stopping Lucifer from getting more and more involved with each case. Also with each case, Lucifer tries his charms out on Chloe who isn’t exactly swooning over him.

luc 1

This life isn’t exactly as Lucifer thought it would be and Hell-Throne-Holder Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside) isn’t making it any easier using Lucifer’s psychotherapist Dr. Martin (Linda Martin) in any way possible. He’s also being looked out for by friend Mazikeen (Leslie Ann Brandt).

But a huge decision is made by Lucifer when his wings are stolen and what he does with them puts Amenadiel in a twist. Chloe reaches out for help from Dan Espinoza (Kevin Alejandro) but Lucifer sees it all as another reason to find a way into Chloe’s heart.

Let’s not forget Malcolm (Kevin Rankin)! Part of the Palmetto case that Chloe and Dan are working on, he also becomes part of a murder mystery himself. But its Amenadiel who isn’t about to let Malcolm forget the reason he is even around in the first place.

It all comes slowly together as Malcolm tells Dan of Amenadiel’s plan which is going to cost one of them dearly. Lucifer has had about enough when he and Amenadiel get into it and the only stopping destruction is Mazikeen. This is keeping everyone on edge because Chloe is piecing together a murder that points to Lucifer and now her own family is in danger.

Lucifer, Chloe, Amenadiel and Malcolm are all about to discover that their fight is going to call upon a most unexpected and heavenly of favors!

TUBS OF POPCORN: I give LUCIFER: The Complete First Season four tubs of popcorn out of five. This is such a different series with continually unexpected plotlines. Of course it is a little boggling to the mind that anyone named Lucifer might do good things.

luc 4

LUCIFER is based on the character from DC Entertainment and let us not kid ourselves – the ladies have gone berserk for Tom Ellis! This character is charming, intense, and humorous and doesn’t have a problem breaking away from the family business. Seriously, how could viewers not enjoy this series? Ellis is just charm wrapped up in a bad boy that is the ultimate bad boy!

German as Decker is such a great character because she is in the middle of the real world and the world no one (but Lucifer) else has experienced. Woodside as Amenadiel is a seriously intense character that kind of scares me when he’s standing there with his huge wings span and furrowed brow! Brandt as Mazikeen has the continual task of keeping an eye on Lucifer while keeping Amenadiel’s plans at bay. I’m sure it isn’t easy being friends of little hellions like these two.

Espinoza as Dan leaves viewers wondering most of the first season which side he is on. Rankin as Malcolm is awesome; I mean seriously, how many demons does it take to plan to off Lucifer…apparently just this one! Harris as Dr. Martin has her hands full and equally more so once the family secret it out.

luc 3

The DVD contains the episodes The Pilot, Lucifer Stay Good Devil, The Would-Be Prince of Darkness, Manly Whatnots, Sweet Kicks, Favorite Son, Wingman, Et Tu Doctor?, A Priest Walks Into a Bar, Pops, St. Lucifer, #TeamLucifer, and Take Me Back to Hell.

There are also Special Features with this DVD including Lucifer: 2015 Comic Con Panel, Character Profile: Amenadiel, Character Profile: Linda, Character Profile: Chloe Decker, Character Profile: Dan, Devilish Duo, Lucifer Morningstar, Deleted Scenes and a Gag Reel.

The release of season one of LUCIFER is just in time as the new FOX line up begins soon with LUCIFER coveting the Monday time slot at 9/8 central. So gather up the gang and marathon the entire DVD before season two begins because secrets are revealed and charm will be doubled!

In the end –experience the devilish charms of the Lord of Hell!

SUPERGIRL: The Complete First Season Fly’s in on Bluray

Supergirl-Season-1-Blu-Ray

Jeri Jacquin

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the Bluray I reviewed in this Blog Post. The opinions I share are my own.

She’s here!! This week on Bluray from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is the release of SUPERGIRL: The Complete First Season based on the DC Comics.

Originally sent to Earth to watch over her cousin Kal-El aka Superman, Kara Zor-El’s (Melissa Benoist) ship left Krypton and became caught in the Phantom Zone. Asleep for over 24 years, Kara lands on Earth as a 13 year-old girl but her cousin is now a grown man.

Helping his younger cousin, he finds the Danvers family that takes her in and accepts her as family even with her powers, especially sister Alex. Now Kara is 24 working at CatCo Worldwide Media as Cat Grant’s assistant, being friends with Winn Schott and also trying to discover how she fits in having superpowers.

sup 2

That decision is practically made for her when Alex’s plane has problems and the only one that can stop disaster is Kara. She also meets James Olsen who brings her a gift. Alex works for the Department of Extra-Normal Operations with Hank Henshaw and Kara learns that she isn’t the only extra terrestrial living on Earth.

Learning that her biological mother Alura was responsible for imprisoning other aliens, Vartox happens to be angrily one of them. That’s not her biggest problem – Astra In-Ze is – and she happens to be Alura’s twin sister.

Kara turns to Alex and Hank knowing that she needs to truly understand her powers. This doesn’t go unnoticed by Astra who knows that her plans to take over Earth are on hold. Being Supergirl means Kara has to live a double life as her boss Cat wants James to get an interview with her causing stress.

Agreeing to the interview, the secret comes out about whom she is related to! Villain Reactron uses this information to get revenge on Superman which upsets Kara who doesn’t feel she needs her cousin’s help. Lucy Lane comes to National City and James is in for a surprise.

If having Thanksgiving with family isn’t stressful enough, an electrical storm causes an electromagnetic fight with a shock jock. That shock is small compared to learning that Kara’s earth-father worked for Henshaw at the DEO to keep Kara safe. Dying suddenly now the girls don’t know what to make of Henshaw.

Kara discovers it is a hacker that got her out of the Phantom Zone, learns a secret from Alex and that Hank isn’t all he appears to be. Project Cadmus has Alex and Hank in need of Kara’s help but in the mix Lucy is made director of the DEO.

After an encounter with the Silver Banshee and help from The Flash, National City is under a spell because of Myriad. The spell is so deep that it also controls Superman and Kara knows that Non is after those from Krypton but doesn’t mind taking a few human beings along with them.

Alex is under Non’s control and with that she attempts to kill Kara but Supergirl manages to awaken everyone affected. With the danger past, Kara celebrates as a pod comes crashing to Earth.

When she opens it up, what is inside is shocking!

sup 3

I actually didn’t know what to expect from the series SUPERGIRL but have to say that it is a joy to watch. The ensemble cast really does bring a punch to the series and it must be said that I have learned many people are excited about the show.

The first season in any show is the opportunity to set up future seasons and SUPERGIRL has done that extremely well to the point where I am excited for season two. Benoist carries the serious weight of the show on her shoulders yet she makes it look ridiculously easy. She also has a comedic side to her character that adds even more dimensions of enjoyment.

SUPERGIRL is an action packed series filled with fun, adventure, very cool villains and a Kryptonian who isn’t afraid to flex her girl-power muscles.

sup 1

Also includes in the Special Features is the 2015 Comic-Con Panel: Warner Bros. Television Present a Night of DC Entertainment at Comic-Con 2015: Supergirl, The Man From Mars, A World Left Behind: Krypton, Gag Reel and Deleted Scenes.

The Bluray release of Supergirl: The Complete First Season includes 1080p Full HD Video with DTS-HD Master Audio for English 5.1. The 4-disc Bluray features a high-definition Bluray and a Digital HD copy of all twenty episodes.

All of this translates into an amazing Bluray to own! There is something pretty cool about having a marathon with friends to re-watch the first season of SUPERGIRL as the second season prepares to begin this fall. For me is also was an opportunity to catch things I didn’t notice before.

So gather up your super hero loving friends and make it a marathon night of SUPERGIRL on Bluray!
