THE LION KING Comes Alive

Lion King poster

Jeri Jacquin

Coming to theatres from director Jon Favreau and Disney is the 1994 iconic animated story now come to life with THE LION KING.

In case you come from another solar system I’ll give the story a run down. There is a young cub named Simba (Donald Glover) who is born a prince. Father King Mufasa (James Earl Jones) tries to teach his young son what it is to be a king. He is also learning side lessons from his jealous Uncle Scar (Chitwetel Ejiofor) that get him into a few scrapes.

Lion 2

Along with his best friend Nala, the two explore much to the fright of Mufasa, even if the royal bird Zazu (John Oliver) can’t keep up. Scar gets an idea enlisting the help of the hyenas and their leader Shenzi (Florence Kasumba) to take what he thinks is his.

Simba is caught up in a stampede that brings death and sadness to the pride and the young prince decides to run. He walks away and meets meerkat Timon (Billy Eichner) and faithful companion Pumbaa (Seth Rogen) who embrace Simba as one of their own.

In the meantime Scar is destroying the valley and Nala (Beyonce) knows it is time to get help. What she doesn’t plan on is running into Simba who is now fully grown. Explaining what has happened, Simba meets Rafiki (John Kani) who shows him why it is important to remember who he is and what it means to be a king.

Glover as Simba is a little less animated vocally than I would have expected. The younger cub prince was delightful and brought a bit of playfulness that made the little furry growler even cuter. Beyonce as Nala stayed in her lane so to speak meaning I had thought she would have song-wise taken over but instead they kept it easy and lovely.

Lion 1

Several characters that I enjoyed so much are Oliver as Zazu making me laugh several times with his antics, Kasumba as Shenzi with a tad less humor than her 1994 Goldberg counterpart but still very good and Ejiofor getting a chance to be the devious Uncle Scar.

Eichner and Rogen got all the silliness that made the animated version so much fun. I giggled so much as the antics of Simba’s smaller friends. It must be said that my four year old granddaughter couldn’t stop smiling when these two were on the screen.

Finally, James Earl Jones is the one and only Mufasa and having him once again accept the mantel of King was a wise choice. He is Mufasa and his presence at the beginning and at the most important point of the film’s emotion is something only his voice could capture. It also soothes the ruffled feathers of those not happy with Disney and its live action choices as of late.

Other cast include Keegan-Michael Key as Kamari, Eric Andre as Azizi, JD McCrary as Young Simba, Shahadi Wright Joseph as Young Nala and Alfre Woodard as Sarabi.

Lion 3

Now, let me get this out of the way – do I think THE LION KING needed to have a live-action version? Nope. Am I a fan of live-action films? Not really. I just think it’s a huge waste of money when we could easily enjoy the animated versions of stories on the big screen and my family would love it. Plus, after seeing the trailer for MULAN and the latest LITTLE MERMAID ruckus – I’m still not a fan.

THAT being said, I can’t fault THE LION KING at all. From the moment the screen is lit up with a beautiful sunrise and music that continues to be recognized with The Circle of Life and I Just Can’t Wait to be King, this is absolutely how it’s done folks!

Lion 4

Favreau should be applauded on several fronts – first of all he stayed ever faithful keeping to the original 1994 story that has become so iconic and also allowed the songs to once again bring joy. I saw this on the faces of not just the children at the screening but the adults as well. Oh trust me when I say I caught a woman six seats down singing along to Hakuna Matata and thrilled to be doing it.

The cinematography in the live-action is colorful and lively to the point that it was easy to forget that these lions, hyenas, birds, and the rest weren’t actually real. From the look of joy in Rafiki’s eyes to the sadness in Simba’s eyes, everything that needed to be related emotionally is there. The humor is wonderful in the film and there is a moment between Timon and Pumbaa that gives a nod to a beast of another kind so listen for it.

In the end – the King has returned!

THE PREDATOR Stalks on 4K and Bluray

predator 4K

Jeri Jacquin

On 4K Ultra HD, Bluray and Digital from writer/director Shane Black and 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment comes a new generation of terror with THE PREDATOR.

Quinn McKenna (Boyd Holbrook) is part of a Ranger team that is sent on a mission to find out about a ship that has crashed on Earth. After a very close range fire fight, McKenna gets part of a Predator’s armor because he wants to prove they exist. Sending what he needs for proof to ex-wife Emily (Yvonne Strahovski) and son Rory (Jacob Tremblay), the government holds him.

Also at the crash site is agent Will Traeger (Sterling K. Brown) who takes the Predator to a lab where Casey Bracket (Olivia Munn) is assigned to study it. Thinking they have everything under control was their first mistake when the Predator wakes up and begins to wreak havoc in the lab. Bracket hides and is surprised when the creator walks away from her.

pred 1

McKenna has been put on a bus with other government prisoners that include Nebraska Williams (Trevante Rhodes), Coyle (Keegan-Michael Key), Baxley (Thomas Jane), Lynch (Alfie Allen) and Nettles (Augusto Aguilera). It doesn’t take long before after shareable moments between fellow military men, turns into a mission to save McKenna’s son.

Taking charge of the bus, they group finds Bracket on the road and she tells them what has happened. Especially the part where she informs them that they found human DNA in the Predator believing they are becoming hybrids.

McKenna’s son Rory has gone trick-or-treating and after finding the armor his father sent, it becomes clear it is a beacon for the Predator to find him. The group comes under fire from the creature and Traeger knows that it is the boy that can tell him exactly what he needs to know. Taking Rory to the ship only brings more trouble because McKenna isn’t about to let Traeger or the Predator hurt his son.

Arriving at the ship, it doesn’t take long before they all begin to understand what it is the Predator wants. None of them could have predicted who the creature wants but the Predator isn’t going to get it without a fight.

Holbrook as McKenna is a man on a mission with the biggest problem being no one believes what is actually happening. It’s hard to do the job when the government is keeping its own secrets about what is really happening. Holbrook is tough and isn’t about to let his character be seen as anything other than a bad ass.

pred 2

Munn as Bracket is brought in to studying the Predator and discovers what the creatures DNA contains and what they’ve been doing on our planet. Munn is fast, smart and is up for a good fight, especially when she has alien-dogs on her side.

Tremblay as Rory is a young boy who is interested in the gadget his father has sent. He knows there is something more to it all and discovers quickly that it isn’t a video game! Strahovski as Emily knows McKenna is a good man and an even better soldier and makes it clear to the group to not mess with him.

Brown as Traeger is part of the “Stargazer Project” and wants to keep anyone who has any knowledge about it under wraps – and that includes especially McKenna. The problem is once the Predator escapes, the one guy he has put away is the one guy he needs. Jane as Baxley is a character and a half and suffers from post-traumatic stress after his time in Iraq and Afghanistan.

pred 3

Allen as Lynch, Aguilera as Nettles, and Key as Coyle are the rest of the group who have no problem joining in with McKenna. They are eager to strap on some weaponry and help not only find the Predator but show it who’s planet it really is!

Other cast include Jake Buey as Sean Keyes, Niall Matter as Sapir and Brian Prince as The Predator.

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment brings award-winning global product and new entertainment to DVD, Bluray, and Digital HD. There amazing collection offers fans an opportunity to expand their own home libraries with the best films. To discover what other titles they have please visit www.fox.com.

The Bluray Special Features include Deleted Scenes, a Touch of Black, Predator Evolution, The Takedown Team, Predator Catch-Up and Gallery. There is over an hour of Bonus Content with Inside the Evolution of The Predator. The 4K Ultra HD is the Ultimate Movie-Watching Experience and you can have it at home. Also there is Movies Anywhere and to watch anywhere all you have to do is download the app!

Taking a different perspective from the original 1987 film PREDATOR, director Black expands the alien’s world with a few new plot twists. Of course it wouldn’t be a Predator film without lots of action and because this creature isn’t going out without a fire fight of some kind.

pred 4

The group of fighters quickly understand what they are up against and this is definitely a film that needs a sound bar attached to an absolutely stunning 4K television. It’s the kind of film you gather up a group of friends with some popcorn and pick a side till the end.

In the end – the hunt has evolved!

Bring all Your Monsters to See HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 3: Summer Vacation

Hotel trans cover

Jeri Jacquin

In theatres this week from director Genndy Tartakovsky and Sony Pictures Animation is a return to visit one of our favorite monster family’s at HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 3: Summer Vacation.

The hotel is busier than ever as Dracula (Adam Sandler) and daughter Mavis (Selena Gomez) miss spending family time together. Son-in-law Johnny (Andy Samberg) thinks Mavis’ idea of a family vacation is fantastic and along with son Dennis (Asher Blinkoff) pack immediately.

Mavis has booked passage on a monster cruise and invites the extended family with Frank (Kevin James), Eunice (Fran Drescher), Wayne (Steve Buscemi), Wanda (Molly Shannon) and their brood, Griffin (David Spade), Murray (Keegan-Michael Key) and Grandpa Vlad (Mel Brooks).

hotel 1

At first Dracula isn’t thrilled about the idea but when Mavis implores him to use the time for family, he can’t exactly turn her down. Captain Ericka (Kathryn Hahn) welcomes everyone aboard and promises them a fantastic vacation. Seeing all the ship has to offer, the gang is excited. Even Dracula changes his tune when he sees Erika because the one thing he thought would never happen is happening – zinging!

Worried how Mavis will react, he keeps his feelings under his proverbial cape. What he doesn’t know and that’s who is hiding below deck, what plans are taking shape and more importantly – who is Bob?

All of this and more will be answered because after all – they are family!

Sandler as Dracula once again puts on the cape to run the hotel and spending time being a good Dad and Grandpa. Wanting to spend more family time, the monster cruise is certainly something different. It’s good to see Sandler keep his character goofy and loveable even for a vampire.

hotel 2

Gomez as Mavis wants to spend quality time with the family having fun. Having her father ‘zing’ certainly isn’t on her itinerary. It doesn’t help that her suspicions about the ships captain are accurate but everyone deserves a second chance.

Hahn as Captain Erika is nimble, fun and very sneaky. She has her eye on Dracula but zinging isn’t why! Erika’s story of hereditary, history and revenge but she also hasn’t met anyone like Dracula.

Frank, Eunice, Wayne, Wanda, Griffin, Murray all return because this wouldn’t be HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA without them. They bring fun, charm and a gentle reminder that extended family hold an important place in our lives. This bunch is so loveable that I was “awing” every five minutes. This is a monster family that started it all and continues to keep us together.

Shout out to Mel Brooks as Grandpa Vlad for bringing the jokes and fun on deck. Of course any time Mel Brooks shows up to a party it’s going to be awesome!

hotel 3

Other cast include Chris Parnell as Stan, Joe Jonas as The Kraken, Chrissy Teigen as Crystal, Aaron LaPlante as the Gremlin, Genndy Tartakovsky as Blobby, Sandie Sandler as Winnie, Sunny Sandler as Sunny, Tara Strong as Frankenlady, Libby Dickey as Lucy, and Joe Whyte as Tinkles.

HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 3: Summer Vacation makes the difficult look easy in that the story is fresh and fun while leaving us the characters our own family’s have come to love. The comedy is there, family issues about our busy lives and, of course, how love shows up at the most unexpected time and place – no matter if your one or one thousand years old.

It is so easy to forget these are ‘monsters’ when there situations are not so different than our own. Another reason this series of films has and continues to be embraced by family film goers. It’s a film we can take our kids to see while still being kids ourselves.

So pack up your own brood and prepare them all for popcorn, fun and loads of giggles. HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 3: Summer Vacation is everything and so much more.

In the end – family vacations can suck the life out of you!

The Complete Season Eight of ARCHER: Dreamland is Locked and Loaded on DVD

bcb3a206-05f2-4c03-a4ee-416243ebf71dJeri Jacquin

This week on DVD from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment is the coolest and smoothest spy who sees the world in his own unique way with The Complete Season Eight of ARCHER: Dreamland.

The season finally brings relieve when it left Archer (voiced by H. Jon Benjamin) face down in a swimming pool after being shot! In a coma, Archer is in a dream of being a private-eye who is looking for who killed Woodhouse. Detectives Figgis (Chris Parnell) and Poovey (Amber Nash) are irritating Archer so he takes it upon himself to a known crime boss called Mother (Jessica Walter).

Making a deal, Archer gets help and Mother gets the dirty on mobster Len Trexler (Jeffrey Tambor). The deal of course is even sweeter when Archer lays his eyes on nightclub siren Lana (Aisha Tyler) Detective Poovey finds the mobster has been dealing in sex trade and Archer returns to his office to find Charlotte VanderTunt (Judy Greer) who has a request of Archer.

archer 1

For a huge chunk of change, Charlotte asks Archer to help her fake death which will be easy since she’s set everything up. On their way to sending Charlotte’s car off like a Thelma & Louise stunt, the detectives catch and haul Archer and Charlotte off to the pokey!

In jail he finds Lana’s back up band behind bars and uses bartender Barry (Dave Willis) and the musicians to escape. That means Lana can’t sing so decides to try her hand at comedy via syphilis. Archer can’t leave until he gets Charlotte back and the arrest cards for his cohorts.

Trexler and Figgis decide they want to make use of Charlotte’s imprisonment but are slow on the draw. Of course Poovey catches on and makes sure that no one is getting out without a fight – a big fight. Getting back to Dreamland, the gang is pretty beaten up and Mother isn’t surprised and turns the tables on Trexler by using Charlotte as bait.

archer 3

Of course that really means everything is screwed up when Mother sends Archer to the Vandertunt estate to get ransom for Charlotte. Figgis realizes that Charlotte is gone but figures he can make a phone call claiming to have the woman for ransom. Mother informs Archer that Figgis is in deep with Trexler which might explain where the money is.

When they all regroup and head to Trexler’s house, they are shocked to find that crazy-loves-to-melt-humans-with-acid Dutch has some upgrades from the crazy Nazi Tin Man (Lucky Yates). The chase is on and Archer is in the midst of a nervous breakdown rant about Woodhouse when he is told disturbing news.

Finally, Archer knows who is responsible for Woodhouse and Det. Poovey can’t find the sex slaves! Then again it’s all in an Archer dream that he needs to wake up from.

Jon Benjamin as the voice of Archer has done everything right with this character. I have been taken with this rogue spy since day one and Benjamin is totally responsible for that. The edge, humor, wit and sarcasm is stunningly brilliant and there is no one else who could give Archer the life he has except Benjamin.

Tyler as Lana is just the absolute everything that I love about this show. She is smart, witty, vulnerable and has no problem saying exactly what is on her mind. I realize that Lana is an animated character but damn if Tyler just doesn’t make it easy to forget that.

archer 2

Walter as Mother is ruthless, maniacal, twisted and quite the little liar and uses Archer as only Mother can. I love when Walter lends her voice in such a way that is only heightened by the clinking of the ice in her constant glass of liquor.

Greer as Charlotte is clearly clueless about the way of the world and all she wants is to get away from her family. Irritated that she can’t get on with her plans, she is dragged from event to event and clearly not happy about it. Nash as Poovey is just twisted every which way but loose and has a vision of her future boat family.

Parnell as Figgis is a little bit of a double crosser with his partner as well as anyone else that he gets next too. Yates as the Tin Man wanted to create perfect creatures but actually should have chosen his creations more carefully. Tambor as Trexler isn’t sure where his slaves are, where the money is or how he ended up in his underwear.

Guest stars include Wyatt Cenac, Keegan-Michael Key, Wendell Pierce, and Eugene Mirman as Cecil Vandertunt.

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment brings award-winning global product and new entertainment to DVD, Bluray, and Digital HD. The DVD includes the episodes No Good Deed, Bernice, Ladyfingers, Sleepers Wake, Waxing Gibbous, Gramercy Halberd!, and Auflosung. The 2-Disc set also contains the Special Features of Audio Commentary on Select Episodes.

In 2009 I began to see commercials on FX for an animated series about a company of spy’s. Intrigued by what seemed to be an adult animated comedy and always up for a challenge, I watched the first episode. Needless to say not only did I laugh myself crazy but have spent the last eight seasons cheering on my favorite group of characters (and I do mean characters!)

Each season creator Adam Reed comes up with the most insanely brilliant stories and crazy laughs. The twists, turns and outrageousness is so up my alley of humor that each week it’s like a party I don’t need guests for! A glass of wine, a few snacks and I am ready for a great time! This is an adult animated series so trust me when I reiterate the word – adult!

This season with its detective-noir dreamlike storyline, Archer gets a chance to be – well, Archer while everyone else is shrouded in mystery. Finding Woodhouse’ killer is his main goal but like any good season of ARCHER, it wasn’t going to be easy and it certainly wasn’t going to be predictable. The only thing you can count on is that it is filled with side splitting – an occasionally drink spitting – laughter.

Knowing that ARCHER is getting ready for it’s 9th season and with a promise from creator Adam Reed for a tenth – I have more time to recruit followers so that maybe we can get an 11th season. The madness and mayhem between Archer, Lana, Mallory and the gang is cut with quick humor, rapid fire comments and comebacks and the occasional pause glance by Archer that causes antici………pation makes me giggle and sometimes even applaud.

So in preparation for the new season, grab The Complete Season Eight ARCHER: Dreamland and take a trip to noir-land with the gang!

In the end – there’s nothing like a trip to dreamland!

ARCHER The Complete Season Seven is Ready to Bring the Laughs on Bluray!

Jeri Jacquin

Now on DVD from the brilliant mind of creator Adam Reed, FXX and 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment is one of the funniest spy groups in history lead by the hilarious ARCHER: The Complete Season Seven.

Starting over in Hollywood with a new agency, Archer (H. Jon Benjamin) jumps right in with guest star Ona Grauer as a Veronica Deane impersonator who he feels should be respected as a Hollywood star in The Figgis Agency! This episode brings out some of the amazing voice talent of Keegan-Michael Key, Patton Oswalt and J.K. Simmons.

archer 2

But Oswalt doesn’t stop there bringing the character of Alan Shapiro back when Archer and Alana (Aisha Tyler) continue with The Handoff while the everyone else is in the office having a good time over a voicemail.

In Deadly Prep Archer decides to go to a reunion that might just give him a business opportunity which is hilarious since Archer doesn’t have the best reputation or head for anything with the word business in it. Jon Daley and Jon Glaser lend their voices and Keegan Michael Key returns as Detective Diedrich.

Archer is put in a precarious position when he is asked to help locate a stranger’s birth mother but leave it to Ron Leibman to give his best vocal talent to Ron Cadillac which is always hilarious.

Bel Panto: Part I & II take Archer and Lana to a fundraiser that isn’t going to end well. I mean does any party these two attend go well? When hostage taking is as bad as cheap champagne, Archer and Lana have to find a way out. The return of Patton Oswalt, J.K. Simmons and Keegan-Michael Key has me cracking up even more.

archer 1

When the battle of who is the sexiest breaks out in Double Indecency between Cyril (Chris Parnell), Krieger (Lucky Yates), Pam (Amber Nash) and Cheryl (Judy Greer) you can be sure it’s going to go down in such a way that I’m suggesting you don’t drink liquid during this episode. I shot Gatorade out of my nose and I’m still healing!

Christian Slater is Slater and he is going to make sure that during a Liquid Lunch he is going to cause trouble for Archer and Lana. No, I did not shoot anything out my nose during this episode are you crazy – alcohol stings but feel free to try it for yourself. Slater rocks!

In Deadly Velvet Part I & II the gang is back together as Keegan-Michael Key, John O’Hurley, Patton Oswalt and J.K. Simmons deal with The Figgis Agency when Crane wants more protection for Veronica Deane on the set of her new film. The problem is sometimes the gang is in more danger than the person they are protecting!

archer 3

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment brings award-winning global product and new entertainment to DVD, Bluray, and Digital HD. There amazing collection offers fans an opportunity to expand their own home libraries with the best films. To discover what other titles they have please visit www.fox.com.

ARCHER: The Complete Season Seven doesn’t need a rating by me because it is absolutely mind blowingly epic on its very own. I have loved each and every season that ARCHER has been on television.

Perhaps it is because my sense of humor is twisted or perhaps it is because I adore Archer (and the voice of H. Jon Benjamin) as a man who clearly sees life differently than any other spy in the history of spies. Each of the characters in ARCHER demand the utmost in insanity and don’t give a damn what anyone thinks of them.

I think I might have just hit on the core of ARCHER – their indifference to anyone outside their group. I’m sure they’d rather just plug them one than deal with their nonsense. From Archer to Malory (the best dressed drinker ever!) and their iconic crazy mother-son relationship ever, to Tyler’s no-nonsense Lana, Greer’s hilarious Cheryl, Nash’s devil-may-care Pam, Parnell’s go-along-to-get-along Cyril and Yates comical Krieger, this amazing cast of ARCHER can do no wrong – EVER!

archer 5

With Keegan-Michael Key, Patton Oswalt and J.K. Simmons added to the hilarity it must be said that these three brought even more laughs if that is at all possible.

The DVD includes the episodes The Figgis Agency, The Handoff, Deadly Prep, Motherless Child, Bel Panto: Part I, Bel Panto: Part II, Double Indecency, Liquid Lunch, Deadly Velvet: Part I and Deadly Velvet: Part II.

Also included is Archer Reviews Bond, Archer Live!, a Cast Table Read (Live on a Boat) and all on two discs that contain all ten episodes from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.

Grab your copy of ARCHER: The Complete Season Seven now and have a marathon of all season because the anticipated season eight is set to begin in April on FXX!

In the end – from vamp actresses to mummy’s to robotic legs to voicemails to clowns to hostages and bodies floating in pools it’s just another season with the funniest spies on television!

HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 2 Brings the Drac Pack Back on Bluray!

hotel

Jeri Jacquin

Coming to Bluray 3D Combo Pack and DVD from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, Sony Pictures Animation and director Genndy Tartakovsky is the best monster get-a-way with HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 2.

Mavis (Selena Gomez) and Johnny (Andy Samberg) are married and raising their adorable red-headed boy Dennis (Asher Blinkoff) in Hotel Transylvania. A source of pride for Vampa Drac (Adam Sandler), he is also loved by Frankenstein (Kevin James), Murray (Keegan-Michael Key), Wayne (Steve Buscemi), and Griffin (David Spade).

It’s Johnny that isn’t feeling very loved as Mavis is totally dedicated to little Dennis. Vampa Drac is feeling a little out of sorts waiting for Dennis to show signs of carrying on the family legacy. When Mavis announces that it might be better if they left the hotel, Johnny manages to talk Mavis into visiting his home while Vampa Drac takes care of the boy.

hotel 2

Visiting his parents, Johnny shows Mavis what life outside the castle is like. From small town living to a thrilling trip to the mini-mart, Mavis is excited about the world she didn’t know existed.

Knowing the clock is ticking, Drac’s first stop is ‘monster-in-training’ boot camp that doesn’t go exactly as planned – unless you like posting video to YouTube! All of this to keep Drac’s father Vlad (Mel Brooks) from finding out that Mavis married a human and his grandson isn’t a pureblood.

Sometimes families can be draining!

Gomez as Mavis is now a Mommy and takes that job seriously. Samberg as Johnny thought he’d have Mavis all to himself but with the arrival of little Dennis he starts to feel a little neglected and looking to the birds for friends. Blinkoff as Dennis is just so adorable to listen to! He is also a little boy who wants to make both sides of his family happy and still wants to fly! A red-headed baby vampire is just to awesome!

James as Frankenstein is hilarious as usual, Key as Murray brings the love, Buscemi as Wayne can be counted on with the one liners and Spade as Griffin takes no nonsense – unless he’s the one giving it.

hotel 3

Sandler as Vampa Drac brings back the same love and attention for little Dennis that he continues to have for his daughter Mavis. Saddened that she would think of leaving him and the hotel, Drac will do anything to keep them home. Wanting Dennis to carry on the family tradition, he realizes that means letting his family be who they are.

Brooks as Vlad is hilarious because that is the last character I would imagine him playing. I adore Mel Brooks and have for more years than I care to count. His line delivery is pure magic, but then again Brooks could read a phone book and I’d be thrilled.

Other cast include: Fran Drescher as Eunice, Molly Shannon as Wanda, Megan Mullally as Linda, Nick Offerman as Grandpa Mike, Dana Carvey as Dana, Rob Riggle as Bela, Chris Kattan as Kakie, Sadie Sandler as Winnie, Jon Lovitz as Phantom of the Opera, Robert Smigel as Marty, Nick Swardson as Kelsey, Paul Brittain as Pandragora, Chris Parnell as Fly and Doug Dale as Kal.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment encompasses motion pictures, television and digital content that offer so much to those wanting to expand their home entertainment library. To see more of what they have to offer please visit http://www.sonypictures.com. Sony Pictures Animation has not only brought the gang from HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA but is responsible for CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS, both of THE SMURFS films, The Academy Award nominated THE PIRATES! Band of Misfits and one of my new favorite holiday films ARTHUR CHRISTMAS. For more information on what Sony Animation will be bringing in 2016 please visit http://www.sonypicturesanimation.com.

TUBS OF POPCORN: I give HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 2 four tubs of popcorn out of five. Talk about happiness in a dysfunctional family, the story here would work even if they weren’t monsters – I’m just thrilled that they are. Having watched Mavis grow up from the first HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA, Dennis is a joy to experience! Of course I think so because my own granddaughter is a redhead so I am a tad partial.

hotel 1

The best part of this film is that every member of the family can enjoy the charm, humor and love that is in every part of the storyline. The animation is fun and brilliantly done, the casting takes fun to a whole other level. That’s also what makes HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 2 such a treat – the humor reaches every tickle bone and tubs every heartstring.

The Bluray includes Sing Along with Monster Scary-Oke!, Deleted Scenes, Make the Scary Silly Sounds of Hotel Transylvania 2, How to Throw the Ultimate Monster Party, How to Draw Your Favorite Characters, The New Guys: Meet Vlad, Dennis, Kakie and More!

I am a fan of having an animated section to the home media library and with grandkids I’d probably be disowned if I didn’t. Get ready to add more fun, laughs and love with the Drac Pack and pick up your own Bluray copy (which by the way is stunning to look at) of HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 2 on Tuesday from Sony Picture Home Entertainment and Sony Pictures Animation.

In the end – they are back to raise a little terror!
