SURVIVING BIRKENAU: The Dr. Susan Spatz Story

surviving cover

Jeri Jacquin

On DVD from Ron Small, the Holocaust Education Film Foundation and Dreamscape comes the story of the ultimate survivor with SURVIVING BIRKENAU: The Dr. Susan Spatz Story.

Dr. Spatz is a woman who has no problem telling her story exactly how it is. Born in Vienna, her parents moved to Berlin, Germany to work in their uncles’ greeting card company. The business was very successful and the family lived well. She recalls her father being a man who loved to dance and mother a woman who was always impeccably dressed.

In 1935, Jewish students had to leave state schools and she didn’t quite understand what was happening. In 1938, Hitler had taken control of their home country of Vienna, Austria. That is also when she noticed that Nazi soldiers were beginning to harass Jewish men and women in hideous ways.

That is when Susan’s father had to find a way out because visas were not to be had. In August 1939, her father left on the last plane to Brussels to settle while Susan and her mother waited. A town was created called Theresienstadt Bauschowitz and two months later it was inhabited by Jews. That was the beginning of the Jewish Council that became part of a selection committee which had one of her mothers’ friends there to help.

Once they learned that it wouldn’t help, Susan’s mother left and the young 19 year old girl stayed behind. In 1943 she was to be transferred by train through the large gates of what was to become Birkenau. Immediately everyone that arrived were processed, given clothing and tattooed. Her number is 34042.

Surviving 1

Food was scarce and lessons of being in the prison camp were every moment of their lives. The women prison guards, according to Susan, were worse than the male guards so they had to find solace with one another. Fate would come into play as she came into contact with a young girl she knew in Prague. That encounter helped her get to the administration offices and the construction department.

By 1944, Susan is sent on the Death March and the only thing that saved her was after being told quietly to load up on clothing and food or else they would not survive. Finally put on a train, they were once again told to huddle together and they would make it. She would see that others trains with people who froze in their train cars.

Staying alive they were finally liberated and when they came to an American checkpoint, the realization that the world didn’t know about extermination camps. Susan was finally free but where would she be able to go?

Speaking English would be another life saver for Susan as she was asked to work with the Americans. Through that she would learn the fate of her family and began the long road to finding a life of her own. She discovered her freedom, her voice and a new purpose for her life.

Established in 2018, the Holocaust Education Film Foundation was started to build an international, interactive online community one Holocaust Survivor story at a time. Through full-length documentaries, distributed globally through numerous platforms, the online site and educational programs, the 501c3 foundation seeks to ensure that we will never forget. For more information please visit https://www.hef.northwestern.edu.

Dr. Susan Spatz has such an amazing story to tell and I absolutely was riveted to hear every moment of it. There is a steadiness or perhaps defiance in her voice that would not allow her to give in to her captors. There is nothing wrong with doing everything humanly possible to survive and Susan makes that clear by the choices she made in her three years in Birkenau.

It would be in her life after years in the concentration camp that seems so much more difficult. Susan even says that she was more afraid after Birkenau with what life was bringing her way but even before that part of her story was told I knew she would let nothing stop her from being free once again.

In the end – it is her story of survival during humanity’s darkest moments!

LONDON FIELDS gives a Nod to Noir

mail

Jeri Jacquin

Coming to DVD from director Mathew Cullen and 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment is the mystery thriller that leaves the guess to the very end of LONDON FIELDS.

Samson Young (Billy Bob Thornton) is a writer who tells the story of Nicola Six (Amber Heard), a woman who seems to have predicted her own death. She doesn’t let it stop her from weaving a tangled web of men in her life. Guy Clinch (Theo James) is taken by Nicola and wants to help her with friends who are in trouble.

There is Keith Talent (Jim Sturgess), a dart playing mouth of a man who can’t get a break in anything. Taking care of wife Kath (Cara Delevingne) and their young daughter, he is also taken with Nicola who makes him promises of money and fame.

london 2

Then there is Samson, a man who is trying to put into words how he feels about the love story he is writing because it ends up with death. Trying to find a way to make it all work and pick up the pieces of the crushed, he knows what has to be done but will he have the heart to do it.

Or does he?

Thornton as Young is a man twisted inside his own head. Writing something substantial means diving in deep to the characters he has created but real life and the page become intertwined. Thornton turns such a strong performance up to the very end.

Heard as Nicola is a woman who knows what she wants and doesn’t have a hard time making it clear. Using men to get what she wants means she’s a better actress than most actresses. Sucking them in and moving on seems to be her lifestyle until a few men doesn’t walk away so easily.

Sturgess as Talent is insanely insane! I mean that in the most respected way. He takes this character and drags him through the sewers to be one of the most low down people ever to be created but then again was he? Delevingne as his wife Kath seems to understand him and is perfectly okay with his peccadilloes.

James as Clinch is a man who falls and keeps falling. Wrapped up in everything that Nicola says and does puts him smack in the middle of danger or of becoming dangerous. He wants the woman and isn’t about to be told no – in any form.

london 3

Props to Isaacs as Mark Asprey who reminds writers all over the world to NEVER tell anyone your ideas until you’ve finished your project and its signed, sealed and delivered. Once again Isaacs lets his bad boy shine.

Other cast include Gemma Chan as Petronella, Jaimie Alexander as Hope, Lily Cole as Trish Shirt, Emily Kincaid as Enola Gay, Michael Shaeffer as Tony, Henry Garrett as Dink, Belle Williams as Juniper, Johnny Depp as Chick Purchase and Jason Isaacs as Mark Asprey.

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment brings award-winning global product and new entertainment to DVD, Bluray, and Digital HD. There amazing collection offers fans an opportunity to expand their own home libraries with the best films. To discover what other titles they have please visit www.fox.com.

London Fields was written by Martin Amis in 1989 before making its way from script to screen. Toted as a black comedy as well as a murder mystery, there is also a sense of never quite knowing who is telling the truth and what is real – even after the credits role.

london 1

The film is full of intrigue and guess work from start to finish. Then again that’s the idea being a twisted thriller, reel the audience in, make them have a huge question mark above their heads while they unravel everything and reconnect the dots only to shoot it all down with an ending that shocks.

In the end – she already knows what we don’t!

Disney’s THE LITTLE MERMAID Returns to Us on Bluray

bluray cover

Jeri Jacquin

On Bluray, DVD and Digital from the Walt Disney Signature Collection is the return of our favorite underwater characters in THE LITTLE MERMAID.

Ariel (voiced by the amazing Jodi Benson) is a curious little mermaid who lives under the sea with her father Triton (Kenneth Mars). Constantly worried about his youngest daughter, Triton gives orders to Sebastian (Samuel E. Wright) to keep an eye on her.

Ariel’s constant companion is Flounder (Jason Marin), a fish who enjoys all the trinkets and treasures she finds. When neither knows what an object is, they ask their friendly neighborhood seagull Scuttle (Buddy Hackett) who has a name for everything.

mermaid 1

The one thing Ariel wants to know about are those who live on the land. Deciding that’s her next adventure she makes a deal with the less than friendly Ursula (Pat Carroll) and in exchange for legs, she gets Ariel’s voice.

Once on land she meets Eric (Christopher Barnes), a young prince who is intrigued by the young girl. Spending time together makes her very happy but it’s Sebastian who is all a flutter. Not only does he have to keep away from the kitchen but help Ariel find happiness with the prince before Ursula gets what she really wants!

Benson as Ariel has become the iconic and ethereal voice of THE LITTLE MERMAID. Her voice is so endearing and her laughter seems so genuine that its easy to smile at her adventure. That is important especially to little kids who might be experiencing THE LITTLE MERMAID for the very first time. Musker and Clements knew exactly what they were doing when casting Benson. Her singing is a bit magical and every bit stunning!

Wright as Sebastian is as smooth a lobster as there ever was one. He is funny, sweet, hilarious and clearly loves his ward. Their relationship is funny from the start and continues to the very last frame. Marin as Flounder is such a sweet young friend to Ariel and that’s important when everyone else sees you as different.

mermaid 4

Barnes as Eric is a young man who finds there is something different about the young girl washed ashore, he could never imagine how different. Mars as Triton has the deep fatherly voice but also comes to understand that his daughter has a path all her own.

Carroll as Ursula is absolutely fantastic and even though her character is a tad evil we can’t help but sing along to her songs. Lets face it…she’s just misunderstood. She can make even this bad girl sound good.

Other cast include: Rene Auberjonois as Louis, Paddi Edwards as Flotsam & Jetsam, Edie McClurg as Carlotta, Ben Wright as Grimsby and Will Ryan as Seahorse.

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment began distributing under its own label in 1980 and continues to bring quality programming to kids and kids at heart. mermaid 3

My family is into its third generation of singing along and loving every moment together as my granddaughter now reminds us of ‘Gizmo’s & Gadgets’. Flounder and Sebastian have their proper place among her Disney stuffed animals and we couldn’t be happier.

That’s what Disney brings us, the animated stories that become generational with characters we can count on to share friendship, family, love, loyalty and adventure. I know this to be true because my first Disney film was FANTASIA and have followed everything animated since.

So bring the family together to take another trip under the sea to visit the fin and leg friends we have come to cherish with Disney’s Anniversary Edition of THE LITTLE MERMAID on Bluray, DVD and Digital.

In the end – love has no boundarie

BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY Brings Mercury Back on Stunning Bluray

Bohemian Bluray

Jeri Jacquin

On Bluray/DVD and Digital from director Brian Singer and 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment comes the story of a legend that lives on today through a BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY.

Farrokh Bulsara (Rami Malek) isn’t about to conform to his parents expectations and when he has the opportunity to change his path it is because he meets Brian May (Gwilym Lee) and Roger Taylor (Ben Hardy) who have a band and just lost their front man. At first the two men think Freddie is joking about what he has to offer – but proven surprised as Queen is born.

bohem 2

Now Freddie Mercury openly, he meets Mary Austin (Lucy Boynton) and is madly in love. She supports his musical dream and is always there to help him through anything life throws at him. The band plays a few gigs adding John Deacon (Joseph Mazzello)  to the group when John Reid (Aidan Gillen) notices them bringing in attorney Jim Beach (Tom Hollander) to protect the gang.

Freddie and the band decide they don’t want to be just like every other music group but instead be daring and bold. This doesn’t go over well with record executive Ray Foster (Mike Meyers) not believing people want to hear six minute songs. Of course Freddie is out to prove him wrong and Bohemian Rhapsody makes its way onto airwaves.

As with all bands, the tension, touring and egos are starting to get in the way of the music. It doesn’t help that Freddie has started a relationship with Paul (Allen Leech) with Brian and John none to pleased, not to mention Mary. The blow up blows Queen apart and they all go their own way.

Freddie meets Jim Hutton (Aaron McCusker) who makes it very clear that he is not the type that will be taken lightly, especially since others are running the singers life. Then, there is the illness he never saw coming and once he did, turns to the people in his life that will always love him – family, friends and fans!

Because Queen is all about rocking us!

bohem 1

Malek as Freddie Mercury does the job that needs doing and carries enough weight behind it with the cast and music. It is obvious that he put all into portraying a man who was larger than life so keeping that in mind I willingly went into suspension of disbelief. The performance scenes are so much fun because the music is stellar and ingrained into many of our lives.

Lee as May believes in what Queen is doing and totally understands Freddie’s idiosyncrasies. Writing and putting it all together in the studio is what makes the group the happiest but there are moments that twinge in the ego about who is running the band. Rogers as Taylor wants more of a say in what the group puts out but would rather not butt heads with Freddie on it. It doesn’t mean there isn’t resentment simmering just below the surface. I enjoyed Taylor’s performance, especially doing his high pitch part in the song Bohemian Rhapsody. Mazello as Deacon lets the status quo rule even though he doesn’t always agree with Freddie.

Boynton as Mary is a woman who has a bigger heart than mine that’s for sure. She loves Freddie and consistently looks past what is right in front of her. Calling her his ‘soul mate’ means she can’t walk away not matter how hard she tries. There comes a point when thinking about yourself is not only right, it is necessary for happiness and Freddie has to understand that. Boynton gives an amazing performance that I won’t soon forget.

Gillen as Reid definitely wants to see what the band is capable of and more times than not he lets it all flow as it will – even when it comes to Freddie. I love seeing Gillen on screen outside of the Seven Kingdoms so well done sir! Hollander as Jim, aka Miami, is one of the most laid back lawyers I think I’ve ever seen. He has moments of important input but the rest of the time, he nods and goes along to get along. I love Hollander in everything he has done so you’ll never hear a complaint from me.

bohem 3

Meyers as Foster has no idea what he’s getting into and even more clueless that Freddie is a strong personality and loves to prove the world wrong. Meyers cracked me up to the very end. Leech as Paul totally had me seeing a blood-sucking-groupie in his character and wanted to jump through the screen and wring his little neck myself. Good thing I refrained but just goes to show how powerful his performance is.

McCusker as Jim is probably the only sane one of this bunch! Knowing that Freddie is his own worst enemy but also realizing that people abuse him, he is still not going to fall into it all. It was good to see someone throw life-coffee into Freddie’s place and humbling for him at the same time.

Other cast include Meneka Das as Jer Bulsara, Ace Bhatti as Bomi Bulsara, Priya Blackburn as Kashmira Bulsara, Max Bennett as David, Dermon Murphy as Bob Geldof and Dickie Beau as Kenny Everett.

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment brings award-winning global product and new entertainment to DVD, Bluray, and Digital HD. There amazing collection offers fans an opportunity to expand their own home libraries with the best films. To discover what other titles they have please visit www.fox.com.

The Bluray and DVD Special Features include The Complete LIVE AID Movie Performance Not Seen in Theatres, Rami Malek Becoming Freddie, The Look and Sound of Queen and Recreating LIVE AID.

BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY tells the story of a young man born Farrokh Bulsara and reborn into Freddie Mercury. From a baggage handler at Heathrow to meeting May and Taylor, life had bigger plans for them all – especially Freddie.  When the band goes through harrowing times, sleazy Paul managed to work on Freddie’s insecurities leading to firings and a blow out.

It is once again Mary who sets him straight about remembering who he is and how he got there and, more importantly, who was there with him every step of the way! Learning that Bob Geldof had a concert called Live Aid at Wembley, Freddie knows it is the way back to what made Queen stellar.

bohem 4

But that’s only part of it; Freddie’s parents go through pains with their son even if his siblings are supportive. It is the Zoroastrian belief of ‘good thoughts, good words, and good deeds’ that truly begin to come to light.

BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY has so far earned two Golden Globe Awards for Best Motion Picture and Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for Rami Malek. Also for Malek’s mantel is a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role.

Currently, BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY is nominated for five Academy Awards including Best Motion Picture of the Year for Graham King, Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role for Rami Malek, Best Achievement in Film Editing, Best Achievement in Sound Editing and Best Achievement in Sound Mixing. It’s going to be a tense evening for the film!

The soundtrack is amazing! If you are a Queen fan then this film will rock you, if you think you are a Queen fan this film will rock you, and if you want to be a Queen fan then go get rocked as BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY coming to Bluray, DVD and Digital from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.

In the end – fearless lives forever!

BACKTRACE

backtrace cover

Jeri Jacquin

Coming to Bluray from director Brian A. Miller and Lionsgate is a tale of reliving a memory on the run when you have to BACKTRACE.

Donovan MacDonald (Matthew Modine) is caught up in a 20 million dollar robbery gone wrong he barely escapes with his life. Responding to the shoot out is Det. Sykes (Sylvester Stallone) and Det. Carter (Colin Egglesfield). MacDonald is taken to the hospital ending up in a coma.

Fast forward seven years and MacDonald has recovered from his coma but can not remember anything about the robbery. Serving time in prison for a crime he can not remember, he is approached by an inmate who suggests it is possible for him to get out. As quick as it was suggested, MacDonald finds himself on the outside.

back 3

Just as quick, Det. Sykes is on the case trying to discover how he was taken out of the prison and joined by FBI Agent Franks (Christopher McDonald). What they don’t know is that MacDonald has been taken by former prisoner Lucas (Ryan Guzman), Farren (Tyler Jon Olson) and Alicia (Baylee Curran).

Giving him a drug to help regain his memory, their goal…to find the money that was lost seven years ago after the original heist but with a twist!

Modine as MacDonald carries the film as he tries to remember what it is he has forgotten. That’s hard enough but when you’re injected in the spine with a drug that makes things even crazier, well, Modine has his head full. The plot twists and turns add to his characters story all the way to the end.

Stallone as Det. Sykes only wants one thing, to find out who has taken MacDonald and why. Knowing he now has the FBI breathing down his neck, Stallone gives his usual look of ‘you don’t scare me in the slightest’ while doing his job. Egglesfield as Det. Carter is out in the field following every lead possible. McDonald as Agent Franks is always one potential face smack away from anyone he is around because of his ability to just rub everyone wrong.

Guzman as Lucas, Olson as Farren and Curran as Alicia all have a secret that is bigger than the millions they are trying to get their hands on. As much as they think they are taking all the risks, I think it is Modine’s character that pays the price for it all in many ways.

back 2

Other cast include Meadow Williams as Erin, Jenna Willis as Det. Bay, Swen Temmel as Truby, Heather Johansen as Sara, Tamara Callie as Melissa, Lydia Hull as Dr. Nichols and Sergio Rizzuto as Foster.

Lionsgate is a global leader in motion picture production and distribution for theatres, television, home entertainment and more. Theatre franchises include THE HUNGER GAMES, and DIVERGENT along with JOHN WICK. Now, adding this film to it’s 16,000 motion picture and television titles you can see everything coming soon as well as available now at http://www.lionsgate.com.

The Bluray includes the Special Features Making BACKTRACE, Cast and Crew Interviews and Trailer Gallery.

BACKTRACE is a film that starts out with a total bang and never lets up. It’s not just the action sequences that are fast, it is the story that changes from one frame to the next. Never knowing exactly what is mystery and what is greed, director Miller takes the mystery deeper into the subconscious of us all.

back 1

Coming in at 88 minutes, plan on eating nothing crunchy and don’t take your eyes off the screen because any interruption and you will miss every second of the mystery, the secrets and law enforcement that have ideas of their own.

In the end – some crimes never let you go!

THE HATE U GIVE Explores One Girls View of the World on Bluray

the hate you give cover

Jeri Jacquin

This week on Bluray from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment and director George Tillman, Jr. brings a story of duality when dealing with THE HATE U GIVE.

Living in Garden Heights, Starr Carter (Amandla Stenberg) lives with her father Maverick (Russell Hornsby), mother Lisa (Regina Hall) and brothers Seven (Lamar Johnson) and Sekani (TJ Wright). Maverick owns a local grocery story while Lisa is a nurse so that both incomes can send their children to a school outside the neighborhood at Williamson Prep.

Starr enjoys her friends Hailey (Sabrina Carpenter) and Maya (Megan Lawless) and is especially happy with boyfriend Chris (KJ Apa).  She admits it’s like living in two different worlds but manages with both. When friend Kenya (Dominique Fishback) convinces Starr to go to a local party, she runs into friend Khalil (Algee Smith). Their party time is brief when a fight breaks out and there is gunfire.

Getting her safely away, Khalil and Starr talk about their childhood memories when a police officer pulls them over. Starr tells Khalil to do what he is told and keep his hands where they officer can see them. Questioning the officer and not doing what is asked, Khalil finds himself at uncomfortable odds with the officer. Outside the car it all happens so quickly as Khalil is shot.

hate 1

Starr’s parents try to protect their daughter when the police question her but it’s all stopped when her Uncle Carlos (Common). She sees him as an important person in her life when Maverick spent a little time in prison. Also threatening her is King Lords (Anthony Mackie), a drug dealer who wants her to keep her mouth shut about the incident.

Learning that the police officer is to go before a grand jury, it becomes clear that Starr might not be able to hide her anonymity. A few people in Garden Heights know it was she in the car with Khalil that night but Starr has to hide it from those she knows as Williamson Prep. The confrontations are coming from all sides for Starr as she realizes that she must either remain silent or let the truth be known.

When a protest breaks out, Starr must make a stand and hope they all hear!

Stenberg as Starr is a young girl who was raised in the way of surviving Garden Heights while also fitting into a school she is sent to for her own protection. Jumping in between both situations, Starr has become fluent in gliding between the two. That is until Khalil is killed and she is stuck between the worlds that she maneuvered with ease just hours before. Stenberg gives a performance that is believable and solid

hate 2

Hornsby as Maverick is a man with a past but it isn’t the past one might think. After meeting his wife, Mav became a family man who believes in protecting his family by making them aware of what goes on in the world. When it all comes to their front porch, there is nothing he won’t do for his family – nothing. Hall as Lisa is equally protective of her family and thinks its time to leave Garden Heights, especially when Khalil is killed and her daughter is in danger.

Smith as Khalil has a small role but an important one as what happens to him is indicative of what is happening a lot in the United States. Johnson as Seven is a young man also torn between two families but doesn’t hesitate to support his sister Starr. Wright as Sekani is a young boy who is witness to it all and makes a move that shocks everyone.

Common as Uncle Carlos is a man who is seeing the world from the view of the police and even when he tries to explain it to Starr, it doesn’t come off well. Mackie as King Lords the local kingpin is a rough man who knows where he comes from but isn’t going to change where the money is.

Other cast include Issa Rae as April Ofrah, Tony Vaughn as Mr. Lewis, Rhonda Dents as Miss Rosalie, Marcia Wright as Tammy, Al Mitchell as Mr. Reuben, Javon Johnson as Pastor Eldridge, Kurt Yue as John, Andrene Ward-Hammond as Brenda.

hate 3

The film has received awards from the African-American Film Critics Association, the American Film Festival, the Hampton International Film Festival, Hollywood Film Awards, Indiana Film Journalists Association, Los Angeles Online Film Critics Society, Mill Valley Film Festival and Philadelphia Film Critics Circle Awards.

THE HATE U GIVE takes on the tough issues and the response from both sides whether good or bad. This film is a conversation starter and I wouldn’t hesitate to show it in classrooms everywhere as a teachable moment. Just as Maverick teaches his children early, we all must teach our children early but for reasons not based in fear but mutual respect.

In the end – two worlds and one voice!

The class is making their own music with rattles, all kinds of drums, maracas, cymbals, castanets, triangles and tambourines. Ms. Gazelle must teach them the difference between a bunch of wild noise and working together to make fantastic music. The best part is playing for their parents and surprised when the parents join in.

Peppa Pig and her family have made their way into my family and spend every day with us. My granddaughter loves the series and even has the toys to play knowing each characters name. That is how you know that a family program has made an impact, when a child embraces each character like family.

The series teaches such valuable lessons about life, friendship, family, loyalty, learning, respect and loads of fun! That is what drew me to the series from the beginning. The fact that Peppa and her brother George have the love of an extended family is very important for kids to see – and it doesn’t matter if they learn it from a cute little pig.

PEPPA PIG: When I Grow Up give children a chance to think about that very question without it becoming too serious. Instead they learn about the choices and ask the questions that could possibly plant the seed for their dreams to one day come true.

In the end – if there is a job puddle jumping then Peppa is your pig!

Coming to 4K Ultra HD, Bluray and Digital from Shout Factory and Stephen Low is AIRCRAFT CARRIER: Guardian of the Seas.

Historically ships came to the forefront in the Mediterranean with the ram and sink technique of battle. The soldiers fought with swords and bows but that is what they had for the times. How times have changed!

Now, twenty six nations come together to show what their military has in their arsenal as 22,000 soldiers also come together to train in Operation RIMPAC. Leading the way in the Rim of the Pacific is the super carrier U.S.S. Ronald Reagan.

Captain Craig Clapperton commands this super carrier and every detail is considered to make this training a success. The ship is run on two radio active engines that spin turbines that can provide electricity to over 100,000 people. Four gigantic propeller shafts push the ship forward as speeds that are still classified.

Five thousand, two hundred and twelve military personnel make their mission a success because they work together. Leading it all is Admiral Lisa Franchetti who oversees the task of the training.

The carrier leads Japan, Canada, Norway, Singapore, People’s Republic of China, Republic of Korea, and more are the International Fleet that will participate in the training. The aircrafts begin with their take off and landings which is astounding in itself. What joins them in this training are the submarines with the newest Virginia class and this particular vessel can stay under water indefinitely!

The aircraft have also gone through changes and they must with all that is asked from their in the way of take offs and landings. These aircraft as equip now with stunning technology to not only help with the defense of countries but also to make better military choices.

As a history buff I truly appreciate these stories of how battleships came to be, how aircraft have become very important for our military and the history of submarines and how they constantly are changing with advances that can tell friend from foe.

What is also amazing is that it is not just about training and battle but also humanitarian aid to those people around the world who desperately need it. With every natural disaster, the military waste no time in reaching the affected area and offering all they can and I find that absolutely stellar.

Once military personnel finish with their training there is one job they have left to do, to return to their loved ones. We all know how important our military is and no one will deny that, but it is so sweet when they come home and are reunited with family who are proud of all they do.

In the end – thank you for your service!
