On Bluray and DVD from Cinemax and HBO Home Entertainment is the third season filled with intensity, action and shocks with BANSHEE: The Complete Third Season.

Lucas Hood (Antony Starr) is an ex-con who is looking for former girlfriend Carrie Hopewell (Ivana Milicevic) in the town of Banshee, Pennsylvania. When he finds her, Carrie is married with children. Through a twist, he takes the identity of the local sheriff. Created by Jonathan Tropper and David Schickler, the third season is a stunner!

At the end of Season 2, Carrie’s kingpin father Rabbitt is in a church shootout. Carrie continues to be a waitress in Banshee, but that is only her day job. At night she worked with Lucas, Sugar Bates (Frankie Faison) and Job (Hoon Lee) on local robberies.

Lucas becomes involved with Siobhan Kelly (Trieste Dunn) which adds stress as he tries to keep his true identity secret. Now, he must take care of the Amish gangster Kai Proctor (Ulrich Thomsen) and Redbone leader Chayton Littlestone (Geno Segers).

If trying to keep things together with those two factions, Salvadorians are after Frasier and his men. The bloodbath becomes more intense as the shock of who is prepared to live and who is prepared to die leads to the season ending with Lucas announcing that he no longer wants to be sheriff of Banshee – and there are those who are paying attention!

Starr as Hood is just fantastic to watch, of course it doesn’t hurt that he has good looks on his side. This role is so full of every possible emotion and it all can change in a snap. There are plots and sub plots and sub-sub plots that just keep me fascinated on how Starr will portray each episode.

Milicevic as Carrie really does bring thrills to her role. There is such a duality here that has to play out and is just as important as Hood’s storyline. I truly never get tired of watching her. Dunn as Siobhan is the new girl on the block and as much as Hood wants the relationship, how is that possible without putting her in danger in two different ways?

The bad guys Thomsen as Proctor and Segers as Littlestone bring the heat and they don’t hold back. Vicious is the way they get things done and if you don’t have the stomach for it then stay out of Banshee!

HBO Home Entertainment has critically acclaimed and groundbreaking programming in so many different formats. Over the past four years the show that have reached fans include TRUE DETECTIVE, GIRLS, THE SOPRANOS, SEX IN THE CITIES, THE WIRE, ENTOURAGE and, of course my favorite, TRUE BLOOD. TUBS OF POPCORN: I give BANSHEE: The Complete Third Season four tubs of popcorn out of five. It is so grand to revisit the third season before the premier episode of the fourth and sadly final season of Banshee. It is sad but yet I love when a series goes out on a good note.

It’s hard to talk about such an amazing series because I don’t like to give anything away. The twists and turns are never ending and the series doesn’t give much time to breathe! This is one of those original series that, by the end of the episode, you don’t want it to be over and by the end of the season the screaming ‘noooooooooo!’ begins. Now, getting your copy of BANSHEE: The Complete Third Season means you have 600 minutes of intensity and begin Season Four on Cinemax immediately!

Yes, let that last title sink in because everything that happens leads fantastically in to the fourth season! I can not wait to see how it all wraps up together.

In the end – nothing is as it seems in Banshee!
